  • What a year we’ve all had: building, bonding, and belonging! This week, we took a look back at all we’ve done as a community in 2018. Check out the list for 10 fun facts about our incredible year.

  • Did you know this Columbia Christmas connection?

    "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus," is a beloved line from the most reprinted newspaper column of all time. As it turns out, the author was Columbia alumnus Francis Church 1859CC addressing a future Columbia master’s student, Virginia O'Hanlon 1911GSAS! Read more about this iconic correspondence, including Church's touching response.

  • Speaking of Christmas, another alum has an interesting role in a holiday tradition.

    Scholar and poet, Clement Clarke Moore 1798CC, the valedictorian of his class at Columbia College, wrote the poem, "A Visit from St. Nicholas" which is now more popularly known as the classic "'Twas the Night Before Christmas."
