Columbia University in cooperation with New York University will host a screening of "Above The Drowning Sea", a documentary of Jewish refugees in Shanghai during World War II, by film maker Rene Balcer who produced the award-winning American television series Law and Order.

Shot in six countries over four continents, "Above The Drowning Sea" takes you on an inspiring, emotional journey across time and around the world. The film celebrates the heroism and humanity of ordinary people caught in extraordinary circumstances.
