Mr. Marek Belka has served as a Prime Minister of Poland and Finance Minister of Poland in two governments. An economics professor and a politician, prof. Belka is a former Director of the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) European Department and a former Head of Narodowy Bank Polski (National Bank of Poland). He has served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) since July 2019. In 1978–1979 he did a scientific internship at Columbia University.
At the event, Prof. Belka will share his observations on the introduction of euro in Poland, among other topics.
We truly hope that this event will provide you with a unique opportunity to discuss socio-economic issues with one of the most renowned experts in the field.
The conversation will be moderated by Marcin Buzanski, a Columbia SIPA graduate, political scientist, President of EonD - a global expert network, Director for International Dialogue of the Warsaw Security Forum, with a career with the United Nations in areas of political transitions, conflict analysis, supporting peace processes and mediation and post-conflict governance.
