Healthy Spaces: Activating Arts and Culture in Community Recovery
Join art & culture advocates who pivoted efforts during uncertain times to highlight issues, spark engagement, and promote economic recovery.
About this Event
The pandemic has imposed restrictions that threaten the art and culture community’s efforts to connect people from canceled concerts to shuttered art galleries and movie theaters. But with resourceful and creative outreach, they are able to overcome setbacks.
Join Columbia University and UPenn of Silicon Valley in welcoming three art and culture advocates from SF Urban Film Fest, Paint the Void, and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts who pivoted efforts during uncertain times to highlight issues, spark action through social engagement, and open avenues towards promoting economic recovery. Learn about their response to the pandemic and their collaborations to enable a safe and engaging atmosphere (mindfully and physically) through art and cultural communities.
Their efforts show how arts and culture can promote healing communities as restrictions slowly ease in face of the pandemic.
Each will share their ongoing efforts towards the community followed by a Q&A discussion.
