Experience Commencement 2015

Commencement history: The First Commencement of King's College, as Columbia University was then called, was held on June 21, 1758, in St. George's Chapel on Beekman Street. Learn more.

Look up! Each year on the night of Columbia Commencement, the Empire State Building lights up in Columbia blue and white in honor of Columbia's graduates.

Did you know? 100 percent of Columbia's distinctive blue graduation gowns this year are made from recycled plastic bottles, one of the University's commitments to a sustainable environment.
