Columbia Jazz Ensemble Wins Top Prize

The Jazz Ensemble from Columbia University's Louis Armstrong Jazz Performance Program, directed by Bruce Barth, wins first prize in the College Combo division at the Next Generation Jazz Festival competition in Monterey, CA on Saturday, April 6th, 2019. The ensemble features Liam Broderick '21CC on guitar, Joseph Block '21CC on piano, Aaron Kranzler '21CC on alto sax, James Haddad '22CC on trumpet, Daniel Mesko '19CC on drums and Jack Aylor CC'19 on bass.

The Tribeca Film Festival returns this spring for its 18th edition, which celebrates storytelling in all its forms from film to TV, VR to gaming. Columbia University continues to have a strong presence at the festival with 34 alumni, faculty, and current students.
