Aeternitas, Book 7: The Shores of Destiny

Book 7 of Aeternitas marks the grand beginning of an Epic from our neighboring universe whose people control the 4 Elements.
   And it begins with none other than a humble one-eyed waiter boy, who strives to get accepted into the best Academy in the known world - because if he doesn’t, all the world will cease to exist.
   
   Bridging 11,000 years of history from the ancient past to the modern present, the stories of Aeternitas span the dawn of humanity to its many crossroads of destiny. In this neighboring universe, where people can manipulate the atoms of matter as intuitively as they breathe, the deities they worship are epic human beings of flesh and blood; their achievements and downfall their own hands to create.
   
   Upon this backdrop of war and peace, rise and demise, key figures arose in might to steer humankind away from extinction, and instead towards the vision of forever. Book 7 of Aeternitas heralds the meteoric rise of one such figure at a pivotal junction in their history, where myth intermingles with reality, and ancient ideals lock horns with new paths; the name of this figure is Elwin Eramir, a one-eyed waiter boy. Fatherless, and with no blessing in the Elemental Arts to boot, Elwin is unwanted and unwelcomed wherever he goes. His father Carl, once one of the greatest explorers of his time, gave his life in search of the unknown, unfortunately taking with him thousands of other lives.
   
   Bullied, blamed, and ousted on by the tarnished reputation of his father, the only refuge Elwin has is in the remains of his family. But one strange evening, he receives two curious guests at his Inn – and after they leave, his world is turned upside down: tumbling out from his wall is a letter from his dead father, urging him to embark on a mission that no one has ever attempted.
   The first step of that mission is to enter AETERNITAS, an Academy with a millennium of prestige, which turns away all but an inkling few who are deemed worthy.
