Opportunities for Alumni Authors

If you are an alumni author, the Columbia Alumni Association (CAA) provides the following opportunities to help spread the word about your work.

Submit Your Book to the Bookshelf

The CAA created a comprehensive database of alumni-authored books as a service to the alumni community. Let us know if you or a Columbia alum you know has written a book, and we'll feature you in the bookshelf!

Display Your Book in the Alumni Center

The next time you visit Columbia’s Morningside Heights campus, be sure to stop by the Alumni Center. The Center's first floor was designed specifically for alumni use and includes a lounge, free wi-fi, and is an ideal place to meet with fellow Columbians. And now, it also has a library of alumni-authored books. If you'd like your book to be included in the library, ship us a copy (care of Kenny Chen): 622 West 113th Street, New York, NY 10025.

Start a Group Discussion

The online Alumni Community is a portal for many things, from updating your information with Columbia to messaging your fellow alumni. For networkers, job seekers, or hiring managers, it's an important place to establish a profile as a savvy professional, thought leader, and to leverage your Columbia connections. As an author, you can kick start your literary conversations by starting a group discussion in the "Discuss" section. You never know who you might meet!

Promote Your Book

Promoting your book in the online Alumni Community is a great way to showcase your work to your fellow alumni. Set your book cover or headshot of yourself as your Profile photo, and be sure to add your work to your (ever-growing!) list of personal accomplishments in the About Me section.

Submit your book for review by Columbia Magazine

Columbia Magazine publishes a limited number of book reviews, but they are always eager to hear about new books. Please send a note with the title, subject, and publisher material to magazine@columbia.edu
