CAA Committees

Budget Committee
The Budget Committee, consisting of not fewer than five members, shall prepare the budget of the Association and present it annually to the Board and the Assembly for approval by two-thirds vote of each body, and address such other financial matters as the Chair may direct.

Governance Committee
A Governance Committee, consisting of not fewer than five members, shall consider and recommend or reject any proposed amendments to the Constitution or By-laws. Any recommendations shall be presented annually to the Board and the Assembly for approval by two-thirds vote of each body. The Committee also shall advise the Assembly and the Board of Directors concerning interpretation of the Constitution and the governance of the Association upon request of the Board.

Associations and Clubs Committee
The Associations and Clubs Committee, consisting of not fewer than five members, shall oversee the relationship between the Association and all other Affiliated Associations and Regional Clubs of the University. It shall facilitate the exchange and implementation of best practices among Affiliated Associations and Clubs. The Associations and Clubs Committee shall recommend to the Board the recognition of Associations and Clubs in accordance with Article X. The Associations and Clubs Committee may recommend the establishment of new Affiliated Associations and Regional and International Clubs where it determines there to be adequate need and viable leadership.

Communications and Information Committee
The Communications and Information Committee, consisting of not fewer than five members, shall be responsible for the strategic use of information to assist the Association in performing its functions. This will include the gathering and dissemination of information to and from individual members as well as Affiliated Associations and Regional Clubs for the purposes of the Association as described in Article II.

Events and Programs Committee
The Events and Program Committee, consisting of not fewer than five members, shall be responsible for facilitating alumni involvement in University and Association events, as well as planning Association events not otherwise the responsibility of another committee.

Recent Alumni Committee
The Recent Alumni Committee, consisting of not fewer than five members, shall advise the Association on programming to engage recent alumni of the University and facilitate their involvement.

Student Relations Committee
The Student Relations Committee, consisting of not fewer than five members including the undergraduate and graduate student Board members, shall develop activities to strengthen the bonds between current students and University alumni.

Honors and Prizes Committee
The Honors and Prizes Committee, consisting of not fewer than five members, shall manage the nomination process for all medals and awards given by the Association, including the Alumni Medal for Outstanding Service to the University. Membership is limited to holders of the Alumni Medal for Outstanding Service to the University and not limited to members of the Board or Assembly. All award nominations shall be submitted to the Board of Directors for approval.

The Alumni Trustee Nominating Committee (ATNC) consists of appointed representatives from each of the fifteen schools of the University (as well as a representative position for both the Library Service and Optometry Alumni). The group meets regularly to identify potential trustees and review their qualifications.
