ACAA | Chinese Cultural Program for Children on Campus

Did you know that there has been a Chinese program for kids on campus for almost 45 yrs? Since September 1972, the Chinese Cultural Program for Children has served the families of Columbia University Faculty, Staff, and Alumni in Kent Hall. We are a "Community Based Cooperative" Non-Profit organization that teaches various cultural experiences, ZhuYin FuHao (also known as BoPoMoFo) at the introductory levels (Mei Ban and Qun Ban), PinYin and Traditional Chinese Characters at the intermediate levels (Ti Ban and Zhi Ban) in order to be successful at the guided independent study level (De Ban). Each "ban" (level) expanding on the teachings of the previous level until independent studying is achieved at the highest level, possibly leading to proficiency for the Chinese AP exam. We welcome children 5-15 to apply for assessment via our rolling admissions process. If you have any questions, please contact Alan Wang (cogencer@hotmail.com).
