CAA Beijing: Talk on Sustainable Development by Dr. Bremley Lyngdoh

Columbia Alumni Association of Beijing (CAA-BJ) is cordially inviting you to a talk on sustainable development, particularly how to contain land degradation around the world by leading experts Dr. Bremley Lyngdoh (SIPA 2002) and Mr. David Plattner. They will talk about their works to help nations with high climate risks to prevent total collapse of ecosystems and food production that could trigger hundreds of millions of climate refugees to move towards Europe or elsewhere from sub Saharan Africa. They will also share about their current project which for the last 3 years have planted 3 million mangrove trees at Thor Heyerdahl Climate Park in Myanmar to build a natural green shield from storm and flood. Dr. Lyngdoh and David are in China for UN conference and would love to meet fellow Columbians to discuss their work and life as an advocate for sustainable development. This event is limited to 40 seats.
