Fiction Foundry: Novelist Richard Vetere

New York, NY
Columbia alumni Richard Vetere will share his insights on “The Craft of Adaptation,” advising novelists how to think about adapting their work for movies and television. It will begin with prepared discussion supported by visual aids and will conclude with a question and answer session. As a novelist but also a lifetime member and recently an elected councilman of the Writers Guild of America East, Richard Vetere brings a wealth of experience to this topic. He adapted his novel The Third Miracle (Simon & Schuster) into a movie for Francis Ford Coppola, directed by Agnieszka Holland and starring Ed Harris, released by Sony Picture Classics. He adapted his stage play “The Marriage Fool” for CBS Films, starring Walter Matthau and Carol Burnett, and is currently adapting his stage play “The Girl in the Wall” for British director/producer Tony Kaye. His two most recent novels, The Writers Afterlife and Champagne and Cocaine, were released by Three Rooms Press
