Dr. Alysa Turkowitz is a career advisor and coach with over a decade of experience supporting individuals including senior executives, high potential managers, and EMBA and MBA students, in the areas of leadership development, career management and career switching as well as negotiation skills. Other areas of expertise include enhancing individual effectiveness, team building and cultural and diversity integration within organizational settings.
Her approach is to identify strengths as well as critical areas of development to maximize self-awareness. Coaching style includes focused feedback along with individualized short and long term goal-oriented action plans. Her focus is on a combination of personal and professional development as she believes the two go hand in hand. Her experience ranges from assisting recent graduates looking for their first job all the way through senior executives.
She has direct experience supporting a variety of industry and functional areas as a former F/T career advisor at Columbia Business School including: financial services, consulting, healthcare, media, social enterprise, marketing. Prior to higher education, she worked in financial services at UBS and Banc of America Securities supporting junior and senior level employees in support and finance based roles. Dr. Turkowitz earned her EdD from the Department of Organization and Leadership at Columbia University and is also a current Partner and Executive Coach with CORE Leadership Consulting.
