CAA France | Discovering Prokofiev

Location:
Columbia University has been a vital hub for Prokofiev studies since the deposit of a rich trove of the composer's archival material at the University in 2014. The Serge Prokofiev Archive, housed at Columbia's Rare Books and Manuscripts Library and supported by the Serge Prokofiev Foundation, is the premier research source on Prokofiev’s time in the West (1918-1936). This concert will initiate a yearlong commemoration by Columbia University of the 100th anniversary of Serge Prokofiev’s American debut in New York City.

The annual Columbia Connects networking event takes place 1400 Hermann Drive in the Museum District. Hosted by Theresa Quintanilla, interim club president. Refreshments, including food, beer, and wine will be furnished, but alumni are encouraged to bring a dessert or favorite beverage to share. Patricia Gras (Journalism '90) will interview a notable local alum, Teresa Byrne-Dodge, the founder of My Table magazine (Journalism '77), and they will discuss how Houston chefs have developed world-famous restaurants.
